I hate to break it to you, but just because you’ve had a website built does not mean it will actually DO anything for your business other than being another ignored 'brochure site' on the Internet.  You need to make sure your website is offering something to site visitors has some sort of perceived value that you can use to convert visitors into leads…into prospects…into customers.

So many websites just offer information about the company’s product or service and then direct them to the online store section or the contact us page for a phone number or comment screen. Going directly to the online store is great if your customer is ready to buy from you RIGHT NOW, but what if they aren't? What if they need more information? And having a 'contact us' page is fine, but so many people do most of their research online these days and just aren’t going to pick up the phone to call you. That’s SO 1992. More than likely, they will keep searching for a company that helps them understand whatever they are looking for online and then they’ll buy from them (not you!).

How to correct this? Begin educating your prospects with reports and information about your company, your products/services, your features and benefits statements, until they are ready to buy. When they are ready, they will more than likely buy from you because you have built a sense of trust and relationship via your drip marketing campaign.

By offering some sort of information (a free report, a how-to video, a demo CD, or any other info that will help to educate your prospects) -  you can offer that in exchange for some basic contact info from your site visitors. 

Once someone has given you their email address in exchange for information from your site, you can then begin your drip marketing campaign to avoid follow up failure.
