"By way of an update, I wanted to let you know that your efforts from last summer are continuing to have a positive impact on our growth. Please allow me to elaborate on some of the ways your Linux Labs business development strategy has taken hold:
- per your suggestions, we continue to identify businss opportunities in profitable segments of the high-performance computing marketplace - we steer away from 'low-bid' deals in lieu of 'value-add' scenarios where people will pay a bit more to access our high level of expertise - on the whole, our book of business has a higher profit margin.
- to date, many of our largest deals have come directly from sales leads that you have directly or indirectly played a role in generating, qualifying & selling - the Education, Government & BioTech market databases you created continue to grow and generate leads to new opportunities.
- your training and motivation of Markus has resulted in him being promoted to Sales Manager and his performance is far beyond what you or I ever envisioned - he now has three full-time inside salespersons covering the Education, Government & BioTech markets for us.
- your recommendation that we secure a GSA contract for our Government efforts was a good one, and that was completed earlier this year - we find that many of the agencies doing supercomputing appreciate access to our value-add service model - having hte GSA schedule in place makes it much easier for them to source business to us..."
